The Quill Kingdom, formally the Great Kingdom of Fitárvi (Rokadong: Ténsinyasan Fitárvi), is a state that claims the majority of western Quillan. Although called a "kingdom", it is more of an empire, as it is comprised of multiple states formed when the Empire of Karan fell apart in Dúrisa 48, which were united by the crown of Rauratoshan over the course of the Peska dynasty.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Like the continent of the same name, the Quill Kingdom's name refers to a feather used for inking. Likewise, in-universe name "Quill Kingdom" is a translation of Old Rokadong "Fitaerhuwi" (Modern Rokadong Fitárvi, Modern Kairitelan Fitayuga), which, as a compound noun, was translated as "quill pen" by Linnerian scholars, despite being a proper noun. In fact, this makes the name homonymous with the English name of the species known as quills, when that name is, in fact, phonetically loaned from Rokadong kawil.
Geography[edit | edit source]
The Quill Kingdom is centered on the Acrylla Archipelago and the Neneta Peninsula, and also controls much of the Inkwell Glacier, Wassecola Bay, and has maritime claims on the Whiteout and Carmine Islands.
The Republic of Karan and Saygen Kingdom share a border with the Quill Kingdom.
