==Etymology==
"Quillan" is a play on the word ''quill'', referencing an older technique for writing. Before ballpoint pens, an inkwell and a quill were used to write with ink.

In-universe, "Quillan" is a translation of Old Rokadong "Fitaerhuwi" (Modern Rokadong ''Fitáruvi'', Modern Kairitelan ''Fitayuga''), which, as a compound noun, was translated as "quill pen" by Linnerian scholars.
