The Empire of Karan (Rokadong: Surahánbi o Karlan) is a former state that claimed the majority of Quillan. It was formed from the Nentan Kingdoms in Remuymaga 406 in the Neneta Peninsula, and extended across most of mainland Quillan over the coming centuries.
History
Nenta Kingdom
The Empire of Karan started as one of the Nentan Kingdoms, known as Karantank and founded in Remuymaga 285. As Karantank started taking over its neighbors, the country was renamed to the Empire of Karan in Remuymaga 406.
Imperial Karan
Karantank was very successful in general, taking over most of Quillan at its peak in Karlan 171, including the majority of modern-day Quill Kingdom and Saygen.
However, shortly after this peak, the Empire of Karan's economy crashed as a result of repeatedly failing to conquer the Linnekarta Mountains. This caused many states to break free and claim sovereignty once more, such as the Rauratoshan Kingdom and Akuylakan. Ultimately, what was left of Karanian power was used to dismantle the royal rule that seemed to lead the country astray, forming the Republic of Karan in Dúrisa 48.
The legacy of this collapse did remain for some time, however. Most of the resulting countries were not in great condition for some time following the collapse, but some were able to stabilize themselves.
